Design guidelines
We recommend using our templates and guides for preparing your print-ready PDF.

You can download our guides and templates in the template section. Remember to delete the template layers before exporting your design to PDF.

If you already have a design, no worries; we accept other file formats, including JPEG, PNG, or EPS.

For photographic content, high-resolution JPEGs are recommended, preferably without compression. For graphics or text-based content, we recommend print-ready, vector-based PDFs. For content that is a combination of graphics and photography, we suggest using print-ready PDFs to ensure the best quality.

Use CMYK as the color mode.

Prepare your files using CMYK as the color mode, not RGB. Use color mode FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2). If you are unsure of the color mode of your file, don't worry we can always convert this for you. Keep in mind this can cause the colours to differ from the original file.

Resolution of at least 300 dpi.

Make sure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are at least 300 dpi.

Add 0.125(in) bleed and keep 0.125(in) safety margin

During production, there might be a slight cut deviation. To avoid any issues, we recommend the following:

  • Add a 0.125 inch bleed around all edges of your design.
  • Keep important elements 0.125 inches away from the edge or folding lines.
  • Avoid using borders or frames on smaller formats like labels or business cards.
Text and fonts specifications (Min. font size is 6 pt)

For this product, the minimum font size is 6 pt. To avoid any issues, we recommend the following:

  • Fonts must be embedded or outlined.
  • If your design contains small black text, make sure it is 100 % black (Cyan: 0 Magenta: 0 Yellow: 0 Black: 100).

Note that we don't check spelling or typographical errors.

Check line thickness.

Lines should be at least 0.25 pt. Negative lines should be at least 0.5 pt.

Check your artwork for overprint.

Make sure no elements in your artwork are set on overprint unless you want this effect in your design. You can read more about overprint in our Help Center.

Make sure the ink coverage isn't higher than 300%.

Force Color Images to CMYK with a 260% ink limit (in Photoshop > Convert Color Profile > Photoshop 5 Default CMYK). Make sure the ink coverage isn't higher than 300%.

Frequently Asked Questions: Saddle Stitched Booklets

What are Saddle Stitched Booklets?

The Saddle Stitched Booklets is a small book consisting of 8 or more pages that are held together with metal staples. A booklet consists of the internal pages and the cover. Our booklets are available in various sizes, materials and numbers of pages!
This product can be used:
• To introduce people to your business
• As a presentation guide
• As an information guide
• As a price list

Why can my booklets only be printed per 4 pages?

In short, it's to make sure that no pages fall out of the booklet. For example, when you choose an 5.5 x 8.5 in brochure with 8 pages, we print two 8.5 x 11 sheets (two times as big) and fold them in half, which results in a total of 8 pages.

If you don't have enough content to fill four pages, here are some suggestions: Find a sponsor who would like to add advertisements in your booklet, make use of an extra introduction page or consider going the 'less is more' route and leaving 1 or more pages white.

What is the maximum number of pages per booklet?

The maximum number of pages is 92, across all paper types.

Is the amount of pages equal to the amount of paper sheets?

No. This is because the pages are folded and printed on both sides. A sheet of paper gets folded in the middle so it covers 4 pages (2 on the front and 2 on the back). For example, when you choose an 5.5 x 8.5 in brochure with 8 pages, we print two 8.5 x 11 sheets (two times as big) and fold them in half, which results in a total of 8 pages.

What paper type can I choose from?

Selfcover: The cover is made from the same material as the interior pages, creating a consistent and lightweight option.
70lb Uncoated Text: A lightweight, smooth, and non-reflective paper that’s perfect for text-heavy designs. Ideal for stationery, newsletters, and workbooks.
80lb Gloss Book: A thin, glossy paper commonly used for magazines and catalogs. Ideal for high-volume distribution.
80lb Gloss Cover: Slightly thicker than Gloss Book paper, offering a sturdy feel with a glossy finish, great for brochures and small booklets.
100lb Gloss Book: A premium glossy paper with a heavier weight, perfect for vibrant visuals in magazines and high-quality catalogs.
100lb Gloss Cover: A robust glossy paper, offering durability and a professional look for business materials like booklets and flyers.
100lb Matte Cover: A smooth, non-glossy paper that provides a sophisticated look, ideal for text-heavy or muted designs.
110lb Gloss Cover: A heavyweight glossy paper that ensures a luxurious feel and excellent durability for high-end prints.
110lb Matte Cover: The thickest matte option, combining durability and an elegant, non-reflective finish for premium materials.

What is lamination and do I need it on my cover?

Lamination is a plastic coating that's applied to a finished printed page. Laminating a cover not only elevates the look and feel of your print, but also extends the longevity. Additionally, it acts as an added layer of protection and helps reduce the risk of creasing, fading, wrinkling, abrasion and tearing. It is important to keep in mind that ordering without lamination could mean the prints may be more at risk of ink or paper damage. When books with lamination are packaged on top of each other in boxes, there is no risk of the ink smudging on the other books.
Note: Laminated paper products are water-resistant, not waterproof.

Can I select any paper type or weight for lamination?

no, not all paper can be laminated.

What is the fastest possible turnaround?

The fastest possible turnaround varies depending on the specifications you select, and will always be stated at the bottom of the page. To make sure that your order is delivered at the indicated time, it is important that we receive your file with your design for the product by the stated cut-off time. This way, the product can be moved into production promptly.
Please note: The delivery date shifts a day every time the deadline for submission has passed. This is also the case if the file is rejected by us and corrected artwork isn't submitted before the next cut-off time.
