Design guidelines
Add 0.125 in bleed

To allow leeway for cutting differences in production, always add a bleed of 0.125 in around all edges of your design. Make sure colors, background pictures and layouts extend into the bleed area so as to avoid leaving white lines as a result of cutting tolerances.

Keep 0.125 in safety margin

Keep all important text and images at least 0.125 in away from the edge of the finished size.

Use CMYK as the color mode.

Prepare your files using CMYK as the color mode, not RGB. Use color mode FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2). If you are unsure of the color mode of your file, don't worry we can always convert this for you. Keep in mind this can cause the colours to differ from the original file.

Resolution of at least 300 dpi.

Make sure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are at least 300 dpi.

Convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts.

Make sure you convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts when saving it to PDF.

Make sure the ink coverage isn't higher than 300%.

Force Color Images to CMYK with a 260% ink limit (in Photoshop > Convert Color Profile > Photoshop 5 Default CMYK). Make sure the ink coverage isn't higher than 300%.

Save your files in uneditable, print-ready file formats.

Save your files in uneditable, print-ready file formats (PDF (1.4 or higher), TIFF, EPS, JPG). Deliver your files in one layer: the background layer.

Fonts should be at least 6 pt.

Fonts should be at least 6 pt.

Use the right values for full color black.

Use Rich Black (C:63% M:52% Y:51% K:100%) for larger areas and text to get a deep black color. Do not use this value for text smaller than 15 pt or plain text. This can only be used in full color printing. For designing black smaller texts use 100% black.

Check line thickness.

Lines should be at least 0.25 pt. Negative lines should be at least 0.5 pt.

Check your artwork for overprint.

Make sure no elements in your artwork are set on overprint unless you want this effect in your design.

FAQ

What are letterheads?

Letterheads are printed headings on sheets of paper that come in various paper types, sizes, and thicknesses. You can even choose to print letterheads with a half-fold or trifold. By customising letterheads with your own logo and design, you can create a professional and stylish impression that leaves a lasting impact. Opt for letterhead printing today!

How can I use headed paper?

Headed paper has a pre-printed heading and design at the top and bottom of each page. It usually includes the name of your brand or an individual, along with contact details such as an address, phone number, and email address. Headed paper is often used for formal or business correspondence and serves as a professional branding element for your business. When designing your letterhead, you can incorporate your logo and brand's colour scheme, creating a distinct visual identity for your business.

What types of letterhead paper are compatible with printers?

All our letterhead materials are designed to be compatible with printers. Whether you have an inkjet printer at home or a laser printer in your office, our letterheads are suitable for both types.

What are continuation sheets and how can I order them?

Continuation sheets are additional pages after the main letterhead page. They serve as follow-up pages when you have more information to share. While a full-fledged letterhead includes all the important details on the first page, continuation sheets typically feature just your company logo or design without repeating the contact information. To order continuation sheets, simply create a new order like you would for letterheads and upload your desired design for these pages.

Can I use letterheads as invoice paper?

Printed letterheads are an excellent choice for invoice paper. As they are compatible with printers, our letterheads allow you to print customised invoices with ease. So, why wait? Elevate your invoicing process with our top-quality letterhead printing now!

Which production techniques do we use?

For the production of Letterheads, we use the following technique(s):
Offset Lithography/Litho printing: This technique uses wet ink and aluminium and rubber plates to transfer images and text onto paper sheets, resulting in sharp, vibrant, and consistent prints. While this method may require slightly more setup than digital printing, it's the most cost-effective option for larger print runs.

What materials can I choose from?

    • 70lb Uncoated Text

A lightweight, smooth, and non-reflective paper that’s perfect for text-heavy designs. Ideal for stationery, newsletters, and workbooks.

      70lb Uncoated Text

What is the difference between full colour and PMS colours?

    • Full colour printing is the more cost-effective option and entails the use of four colours: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK). It involves combining multiple print orders onto a single printing sheet to optimise efficiency and reduce costs. With full colour printing, you can enjoy a diverse palette of colours, shades, and gradients.
Choose between single-sided or double-sided full colour printing and create eye-catching letterheads!
Keep in mind that slight colour variations may arise between different print runs due to disparities in printing equipment, materials, and environmental factors.

    • PMS stands for Pantone Matching System, in which colours are identified by numbering. As a result, a PMS colour is exactly the same at every printer. When opting for PMS printing, your order is specifically set, printed, and finished to provide the utmost accuracy in representing your colours.
You can choose to print your letterhead paper with one, two, or three PMS colours on one or both sides.
If your design has more than three colours, full colour printing is the ideal choice.
