Design guidelines
We recommend using our templates and guides for preparing your print-ready PDF.

You can download our guides and templates in the template section. Remember to delete the template layers before exporting your design to PDF.

If you already have a design, no worries; we accept other file formats, including JPEG, PNG, or EPS.

For photographic content, high-resolution JPEGs are recommended, preferably without compression. For graphics or text-based content, we recommend print-ready, vector-based PDFs. For content that is a combination of graphics and photography, we suggest using print-ready PDFs to ensure the best quality.

Use CMYK as the color mode.

Prepare your files using CMYK as the color mode, not RGB. Use color mode FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2). If you are unsure of the color mode of your file, don't worry we can always convert this for you. Keep in mind this can cause the colours to differ from the original file.

Resolution of at least 300 dpi.

Make sure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are at least 300 dpi.

Add 0.125(in) bleed and keep 0.125(in) safety margin

During production, there might be a slight cut deviation. To avoid any issues, we recommend the following:

  • Add a 0.125 inch bleed around all edges of your design.
  • Keep important elements 0.125 inches away from the edge or folding lines.
  • Avoid using borders or frames on smaller formats like labels or business cards.
Text and fonts specifications (Min. font size is 6 pt)

For this product, the minimum font size is 6 pt. To avoid any issues, we recommend the following:

  • Fonts must be embedded or outlined.
  • If your design contains small black text, make sure it is 100 % black (Cyan: 0 Magenta: 0 Yellow: 0 Black: 100).

Note that we don't check spelling or typographical errors.

Check line thickness.

Lines should be at least 0.25 pt. Negative lines should be at least 0.5 pt.

Check your artwork for overprint.

Make sure no elements in your artwork are set on overprint unless you want this effect in your design.

Make sure the ink coverage isn't higher than 300%.

Force Color Images to CMYK with a 260% ink limit (in Photoshop > Convert Color Profile > Photoshop 5 Default CMYK). Make sure the ink coverage isn't higher than 300%.

Using a border/frame is not recommended

It is recommended to count with a margin of error when stacks of copies are trimmed during the production process. This slight cutting deviation is usually not noticeable, however we recommend avoiding adding borders smaller than 0.125 inches in your design otherwise, the design might end up looking off-center.

FAQ

What are custom flyers used for?

Custom flyers are used to promote events, sales, openings, services, or causes. They're a cost-effective way to share your message quickly with a large audience.

What sizes do custom flyers come in?

Common flyer sizes include 4"x6", 5.5"x8.5", 8.5"x11", and more. We also offer custom sizing to match your design or campaign needs.

What paper options are available for cheap flyers?

We offer flyers in a range of paper weights to match your needs. Paper thickness is measured in pounds (lbs), with higher numbers indicating a thicker, more durable feel. Not sure which one to choose? Here's a quick guide:

80 lb paper: Lightweight and easy to distribute, this option is similar to magazine paper. It's perfect for large-scale campaigns where cost-effectiveness and ease of handling are important.
100 lb paper: A step up in thickness, this stock offers a more premium feel without being too rigid. Ideal for events, promotions, and marketing materials that need to make a stronger impression while remaining flexible.
Choose the paper weight that fits your message, budget, and goals, we’ll take care of the printing.

What material can I choose for my flyers?

Glossy: The glossy finish gives the paper a subtle sheen. It's perfect for photographs as the colours show up quite vivid.
Matte: The matte finish is quite subtle and is perfect if your design is text-heavy.
Offset
Writable:
This paper is uncoated, making it ideal for writing. It's perfect if you need your customers to write down information.
Recystar Nature: 100% recycled paper and sustainably produced. The natural white colour gives the print a natural look.
Bio Top: Recyclable and made through a chlorine-free (TCF) bleaching process with no optical brightening agents. This process leaves the paper with an off-white colour and a natural, uncoated texture. It is pleasant to the touch and comfortable for reading.
PaperWise Natural: Unbleached and made from agricultural waste. Sustainable with low environmental impact, it is uncoated and has a natural light brown colour.
UV-varnish: The UV-varnish finish gives your flyer an ultra glossy appearance, making it look quite luxurious.
Matte lamination: The matte lamination finish adds an extra layer to your flyer. Similar to the matte finish, this is also subtle and is perfect if your flyer is text heavy. The added layer also acts as extra protection for your flyer.
Gloss lamination: The glossy lamination adds an extra layer to your flyer. Similar to the glossy finish, this also gives your flyers a sheen and is perfect for photographs as the colours show up quite vivid. The added layer also acts as extra protection for your flyer.

Which production techniques do we use?

For the production of Custom Flyers, we use the following technique(s):
Digital printing: Uses four colours (CMYK) with toners and inks to print digital files. This option is comparable to a large home printer, and is cheaper than Litho printing for smaller quantities. This is because there are fewer starting costs, fewer components involved, and no ink drying time required.
Offset Lithography/Litho printing: This technique uses wet ink and aluminium and rubber plates to transfer images and text onto paper sheets, resulting in sharp, vibrant, and consistent prints. While this method may require slightly more setup than digital printing, it's the most cost-effective option for larger print runs.

Do you offer folded flyer options?

Yes. If you need more space or want to present information in sections, folded flyers such as tri-folds or z-folds are available. Check out our brochures.

Are custom business flyers good for small businesses?

Absolutely. They're affordable, easy to distribute, and highly customizable, making them perfect for small business promotions, menus, service lists, or event announcements.
