Which attachment (clip or hook) is needed for personalised lanyards?

We offer so many attachment options to choose from, with our custom lanyards available to order with metal clips, buckles, buckle and safety clip combinations, retractable clips, roller clips, detachable buckles, and metal hooks.

Deciding which is right for you depends on the overall use of your lanyard, with some attachments more suitable for holding certain items than others. A clip or hook that’s meant for carrying a PVC badge or key bundle for instance may not be suitable for the carrying of heavy tools, devices or mobile phones. The frequency of use will also influence which attachment will work better for your lanyard.

Many of our custom printed lanyards feature a trigger clip for easy attachment and detachment, while ensuring optimum security. This attachment is the safest option for general, lightweight items, including ID badges, fobs, keys, small torches and cameras. We also stock and supply roller clip attachments for keys and IDs.

Can I add a safety breakaway clip to my lanyard printing design?

Here at HelloPrint, our customers’ safety is our priority. That’s why many of our custom lanyards feature breakaway closures. Our breakaway clips are safe and sturdy delivering the reassurance you need when using our custom print lanyards at your event or workplace.

Breakaway clips are integral to safeguarding your workers, visitors and guests from preventable injuries and even fatalities. They primarily prevent choking hazards, and can be lifesaving in high-risk environments where moving machinery or aggressive clients/patients are regular occurrences. Safety breakaway clips can also improve the comfort of your company lanyards, with their length able to be adjusted simply, and the lanyard itself removed and reattached just as easily.

While the addition of safety breakaway clips to your lanyard design isn’t a legal requirement, it is a best practice safety measure and comes strongly recommended in settings like schools, local authorities and healthcare facilities.

What width do you require for the straps?

The width of your lanyards is more important than you might think. As well as defining the appearance of your event and company lanyards, the right lanyard width can directly influence comfort. If the lanyard strap is too thin for example, this may be uncomfortable when worn for longer periods of time. Again, this customisable option can be determined by your lanyard’s purpose.

For the carrying of lightweight items, like ID cards and key fobs, or for short-term use, a narrow lanyard strap of 10 to 15mm is recommended. This is great for visitors to your school or workplace, or for lanyards destined for souvenir use.

The most popular width for lanyards is 20mm. This medium width lanyard is typically relied on for everyday use. Our wider lanyard widths (25mm) are great for drawing attention to eye-catching and engaging promotional material, and are top choices for trade shows, events, conferences or any opportunity where you want your branded lanyards to stand out. These wider lanyards are also more comfortable to wear, especially for longer periods.

Do you provide recycled PET eco-friendly straps?

Yes, we do! Our commitment to sustainability, and our status as an official B Corp company, means we offer several eco-friendly custom lanyard options. Lanyards printed on RPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate) tick many of these eco-friendly boxes, ensuring a sustainable printed product for you, a demonstration of your eco-credentials, and the seal of approval from us!

For those of you unfamiliar with RPET material, this is a fibre produced using PET plastic. Unlike virgin PET plastic, RPET is a post-consumer material that has been collected, cleaned and repurposed as something new, which in this case is our custom print lanyards.

Thanks to their mix of recycled and virgin material, they provide an eco-friendly strap that’s a stand out success in every respect. Are there eco-friendly bamboo lanyard options?

Our Bamboo Lanyards can be used to demonstrate your commitment to sustainability every day, offering great value and even better convenience when keeping keys and ID passes close too.

As a material, bamboo is up there with the eco-friendliest fibres. It grows incredibly fast and is highly renewable as a result, with resources replenished in as little as 3 to 5 years. Bamboo is biodegradable, and unlike plastic, is able to break down naturally to return to the Earth once it has reached the end of its life.

From a comfort perspective, our bamboo lanyard straps also come out on top. They’re soft to the touch and extremely breathable, making them ideal for use every day, even during long shifts. How many print colours are in the design for HelloPrint's personalised lanyards?

Most of our custom lanyards can be printed with 1 to 4 colours or in full colour. Please check the individual page of your desired product for details.

Lanyards printed in either 1 to 4 colours or full colour are subject to different printing techniques. Designs for such lanyards should also be set to the correct colour mode, with full colour prints requiring files supplied in CMYK and products with solid colours needing to be supplied in Pantone Solid colours.

What are the differences between personalised lanyard printing methods?

To print lanyards here at HelloPrint, we call on two printing methods, namely screen printing and dye sublimation. The print technique selected depends on the number of colours featured in your design (1, 2, 3, 4 or full colour) and the quantity ordered.

Sublimation is a print method generally reserved for full colour custom print lanyards. This method sees printing conducted at high temperature using eco-friendly, water-based ink, which seeps into the material for a flexible, waterproof finish. For personalized ID lace manufacturing in 1 to 4 colours, screen printing is typically the method of choice.

The screen printing process utilises a woven mesh screen and ink-blocking stencil to print the necessary imagery. This produces high quality results for large scale orders in particular, and does so very cost effectively.

Do you already have a high-resolution logo file?

Whether ordering custom lanyards with logo, pattern, slogan or a specific colour palette, you can do so by uploading your own design or using our editor to browse customisable design templates. There are more than 10,000 free templates to choose from, each of which can be modified to your requirements to ensure a beautiful, personalised finish.

When using your own artwork or logo, the upload process is even simpler. Just use our upload form, or alternative upload form for larger files, to submit your artwork to our team. You can also send your artwork via WeTransfer.

Please note, we have several design guidelines that apply to our custom print lanyards, and these may differ from product-to-product. What is the required quantity of our custom lanyards?

We are committed to quality and cost effectiveness, with our custom lanyards printed in standard quantities to keep prices low for all our customers. We are happy to accommodate orders of larger quantities, simply contact our team for wholesale pricing for bulk orders. It is important to note that many of our lanyard printing services have minimum print runs of 50 to 100. Selected designs, such as our PANY Lanyard with Metal Hook, can be purchased from just 5 pieces to cater to smaller orders.

What is the typical turnaround time for bulk lanyard orders?

Turnaround times and estimated delivery dates vary depending on your selected branded lanyard style, the quantity and the complexity of your custom design.
