The flags are printed on one side and are 95% transparent (i.e. also visible on the unprinted side) so your design can be admired from all sides. Design guidelines

Add 25mm bleed: To allow leeway for cutting differences in production, always add a bleed of 25 mm around all edges of your design. Make sure colours, background pictures and layouts extend into the bleed area so as to avoid leaving white lines as a result of cutting tolerances. You can submit your file with crop marks and printer's marks.
Keep 40 mm safety margin.: Keep all important text and images at least 40 mm away from the edge of the finished size.
Resolution of at least 150 dpi.: Make sure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are at least 150 dpi.
Use CMYK as the colour mode.: Prepare your files using CMYK as the colour mode, not RGB. Use colourmode FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2). If you are unsure of the colour mode of your file, don't worry we can always convert this for you. Keep in mind this can cause the colours to differ from the original file.
Save your files in an editable, print-ready file formats.: Save your files in an editable, print-ready file formats (PDF (1.4 or higher), TIFF, EPS, JPG). Deliver your files in one layer: the background layer.
Convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts.: Make sure you convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts when saving it to PDF.
Font should be at least 20pt: Font should be at least 20pt.
Check your artwork for overprint.: Make sure no elements in your artwork are set on overprint unless you want this effect in your design. You can read more about overprint in our Help Centre.
Use the right values for full colour black.: Please note: The material used for a flag is very absorbent therefore the colour can come out lighter than expected. This is especially the case with black. For rich black please use (Cyan 60, Magenta 40, Yellow 40 & Black 100).

What materials can I choose from?

Recycled material: Recycled PET 110 gsm material with a fine structure. This material is hemmed to prevent fraying.
Longlife material: Strong 115 gsm fabric perforated with tiny holes. The holes make sure the flag can resist strong winds and a longer life is guaranteed. This material is best used in open areas or beaches.
Standard material: Classic 110 gsm flag canvas with a slight glossy look. This material is perfect for advertising on a shopping street.

What is the lifespan of Custom Size Flags?

The lifespan of the flag is approx. 3 to 5 months while using it intensively. You can expand the lifespan by bringing the flags inside in harsh weather.

What wind power can flags withstand outside?

We advise bringing your flags inside if gale force reaches 7. This will greatly improve the lifespan of your flags.

What is the fastest possible turnaround?

The fastest possible turnaround varies depending on the specifications you select, and will always be stated at the bottom of the page. To make sure that your order is delivered at the indicated time, it is important that we receive your file with your design for the product by the stated cut-off time. This way, the product can be moved into production promptly.
Please note: The delivery date shifts a day every time the deadline for submission has passed. This is also the case if the file is rejected by us and corrected artwork isn't submitted before the next cut-off time.

Which production techniques do you use?

For the production of Custom Size Flags, we use the following technique(s):
Sublimation: With this technique, the printing is carried out at a high temperature, where the eco-friendly water based ink seeps directly into the material. The material remains flexible and is waterproof.

I can't find the product I'm looking for. Can I request a quotation?

If your material type, weight, quantity, size or other specification is not listed, you can request a quotation. We aim to get back to you within 2 working days.

Are the Custom Size Flags printed single or double sided?

Our flags are printed on one side as standard. This means that your logo is visible as a mirror image on the back. The print-through of our flags is around 95%.

How do the colours come out in the print?

The colours printed on flag fabrics will never be as sharp as they are on your screen, especially the colour black. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
